Woman Found Dead in Abandoned Shed in Hisar

Hisar: A woman was found dead in an abandoned farm shed on the outskirts of Hisar on Sunday, with her hands and legs tied and a blood-stained cloth stuffed into her mouth. Police suspect she was strangled elsewhere and that her body was dumped at the secluded location.

The victim, believed to be between 40 and 42 years old, has not yet been identified. Investigators said markings bearing the names ‘Paso Rani' and ‘Seema Rani' were found engraved on the victim's hand.

The body was discovered by some locals passing through agricultural fields near a kutcha road leading from the Ramayan Toll Plaza area towards Kharar village. They immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the spot along with forensic experts.

Preliminary forensic examination indicated that the murder was not committed at the location where the body was found. Investigators also detected tyre marks near the shed, strengthening suspicions that the body might have been transported there in a vehicle after the crime.

The police believe the perpetrators may have taken advantage of the isolated stretch to dispose of the body without attracting attention. The body has been shifted to the Civil Hospital in Hisar for post-mortem examination and identification.

An investigation has been launched, with the police scanning CCTV footage from the toll plaza, nearby factories and adjoining roads to trace suspicious vehicles and individuals who may have visited the area.

The police said the motive behind the crime and the circumstances leading to the murder would become clearer once the woman was identified.

A case has been registered, and police are pursuing multiple leads to nab the culprits.
