A woman was sent to judicial custody on Wednesday for killing her husband with a hammer following a domestic dispute in Ujjain's Unhel police station area.

Incident Details

The woman, identified as Radhika alias Madhuri, was produced before the First Class Judicial Magistrate in Nagda and subsequently sent to judicial custody at Bhairavgarh Jail.

The case came to light on Tuesday when Ashok Lohar of Bedawan village found his son's house locked from inside and noticed bloodstains through a gap in the door. He informed the police, who upon opening the door, discovered Vikram Lohar dead. His wife and son were found asleep inside the house.

Evidence and Investigation

Police recovered a blood-stained hammer from the house. No evidence of any outsider entering the house that night was found.

CSP Vikram Ahirwar and station in-charge Santosh Chouhan stated that the body was sent for postmortem examination, while the wife was detained for questioning.

Confession and Motive

During interrogation, Radhika confessed to striking her husband on the head with a hammer during a late-night quarrel, killing him instantly. She then went to sleep with her son.

Radhika told police that Vikram was addicted to alcohol and used to beat and torment her. On the night of the incident, he had returned home drunk before the dispute turned fatal. The couple had been married for about 13 years and had one son, a sixth-grade student.
