Woman Murdered, Body Stuffed in Storage Box at Delhi PG; Three Arrested

A shocking crime has unfolded in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area, where a 35-year-old woman was allegedly murdered and her body was discovered stuffed inside a double-bed storage box at a paying guest (PG) accommodation. The incident has sent ripples through the local community and prompted a swift police response.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Gruesome Crime

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the murder. The primary suspect is a 22-year-old man named Deepak, a resident of Mangolpuri who allegedly had a relationship with the victim. Two of his relatives, identified as Surendra and Joginder, were also taken into custody as accomplices. Deepak reportedly operates a chicken shop in the area.

Discovery of the Body and Initial Investigation

The grim discovery was made on Monday evening when a PCR call alerted police to a woman's body found at the PG facility located in the Patthar Market area of Mangolpuri. The PG is run by a 31-year-old man named Amarjeet. Upon arrival, police found strangulation marks on the woman's neck and a visible injury on her forehead, indicating a violent assault.

Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams immediately inspected the scene, collecting crucial samples for a thorough investigation. The victim, a married mother of three from Mangolpuri, was identified during the probe, which revealed her alleged relationship with Deepak.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Vikram Singh, the woman and Deepak met at the PG around 4:30 PM on Monday and remained there for approximately an hour. After Deepak left the premises, the PG owner noticed suspicious circumstances and promptly alerted the authorities.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an argument broke out between the couple during their meeting, which quickly escalated into violence. While Deepak is alleged to have committed the murder, his co-accused relatives are believed to have assisted in concealing and tampering with evidence. Police have recovered CCTV footage showing the suspects together at the scene.

Family Background and Allegations

The victim's family shared distressing details with the media, revealing that they had tried to convince her to end the relationship with Deepak. Despite their efforts, the couple reportedly continued meeting on and off. On the day of the incident, the woman told her family she was going to drop her child off at tuition classes. Her husband works in a shoe factory.

The family further alleged that Deepak was blackmailing the victim using objectionable videos. However, a senior police officer stated that no such material has been found so far, and this aspect remains under investigation.

Ongoing Police Probe and Legal Action

Police are actively investigating multiple angles, including whether the quarrel stemmed from a possible monetary dispute and if the murder was premeditated. Blood samples from the accused have been sent for testing to determine if they were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

A formal case has been registered under Sections 103 (murder), 238 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Mangolpuri police station. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the full narrative of this tragic event.
