19-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot in Govandi; Two Suspects Arrested
A tragic incident unfolded in the Shivaji Nagar area of Govandi on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old woman, identified as Shifa Shaikh. According to police reports, she was shot dead, leading to the immediate arrest of a man and a woman in connection with the murder.

The incident occurred in the Furqania Masjid locality of Shivaji Nagar. Shifa Shaikh had left her residence after being called to meet another woman, who has since been taken into custody by the authorities. Sources indicate that an argument erupted between Shaikh and the suspect over an undisclosed issue, culminating in the suspect allegedly firing a round at Shaikh.
Following the shooting, locals rushed Shaikh to Rajawadi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A police team arrived at the hospital and was informed that she had been shot at point-blank range in the cheek, with the bullet becoming lodged in her skull, causing fatal injuries.

During the probe, officers discovered that Shaikh was friends with a man from the area, and a woman being questioned in the case was also close to Shaikh, leading to friction between the two women. An officer involved in the investigation stated, "We found that Shaikh was friends with another man from the area. A woman from the area who is being questioned in the case was also close friends with Shaikh due to which there was some friction between the two women. Initial probe reveals a love triangle." The officer added that Shaikh's father is involved in the construction business, and she had completed her education up to class 10.
