A 24-year-old construction worker was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances at a building site in Maduravoyal, Chennai, on Sunday. Following the incident, police detained his girlfriend and another worker for questioning.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as Silambarasan, hailed from Kandachipuram in Villupuram district. He had been residing at the construction site for the past two weeks. On Sunday, his father, Kumaravel, alerted the police, reporting that his son was found unconscious at the site. Upon arrival, Maduravoyal police observed injuries on the victim's neck and subsequently sent the body to Kilpauk Government Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Investigation and Detainments
During the investigation, police questioned Silambarasan's girlfriend, Senthamizh, an 18-year-old also from Kandachipuram, as the couple had been in a relationship for some time. Additionally, authorities detained Manikandan, another worker at the site, for further inquiry. Both individuals are currently being held for questioning as police work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.
