Yamunanagar Police Apprehend Wanted Criminal in Dramatic Late-Night Encounter
The district police in Yamunanagar made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday by arresting a wanted criminal with alleged connections to the notorious Noni Rana and Monu Gurjar gangs. This arrest followed a dramatic encounter that unfolded late on Monday night, showcasing the police's swift action and resilience in the face of danger.
Dramatic Encounter Unfolds Near Railway Underpass
According to police reports, the CIA-II team received specific intelligence on Monday evening indicating that the accused, identified as Arun alias Golu, a resident of Jagadhri, was present near a railway underpass on the road leading to Sialba village in the Saraswati Nagar area. Acting promptly on this information, the team laid a trap to apprehend him, demonstrating their proactive approach to maintaining law and order.
As the police moved in to make the arrest, the suspect allegedly opened fire at the team in a desperate attempt to escape. During this intense exchange, a bullet struck sub-inspector Rohan. Fortunately, due to the protective gear he was wearing, SI Rohan escaped unhurt, highlighting the importance of safety equipment in such high-risk operations.
Injured Suspect Overpowered and Hospitalized
In the ensuing chase, Arun attempted to break through a wall near the railway underpass but lost his balance and fell, sustaining injuries to both legs and other parts of his body. The police quickly overpowered him and rushed him to Mukund Lal District Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar for necessary medical treatment. This incident underscores the risks involved in police operations and the physical toll they can take on both officers and suspects.
On the complaint filed by SI Rohan, a case has been registered against Arun under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Chhappar police station. This legal action marks a crucial step in ensuring justice and accountability for the criminal activities involved.
Criminal Background and Ongoing Investigations
Rakesh Kumar, in charge of CIA-II, provided further details about the accused's criminal history. He revealed that Arun was recently released on bail in another criminal case and was wanted in an Arms Act case registered on January 21. Additionally, the police had received inputs suggesting that Arun was planning to commit a crime in the area, which prompted the urgent operation to apprehend him.
Police officials confirmed that at least two criminal cases were already registered against Arun prior to this incident. Further investigation is currently underway to uncover more details about his activities and potential links to other criminal networks. This ongoing probe aims to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined to prevent future crimes.
The arrest of Arun alias Golu represents a significant achievement for the Yamunanagar police in their efforts to combat organized crime and enhance public safety in the region.
