The body of a 25-year-old youth was discovered in a bamboo grove approximately 300 meters from his residence in Silauth Vasudev village under Maniyari police station area in Muzaffarpur on Sunday. Police have seized the deceased's mobile phone and shirt from the scene and initiated an investigation.
Identification and Discovery
The deceased has been identified as Gulshan Kumar, son of Ramashankar Mishra. According to police, some children had gone to the orchard on Sunday morning to collect dry leaves when they spotted Gulshan lying unconscious in the bamboo grove. Frightened, they raised an alarm, prompting family members working in nearby fields to rush to the spot.
Family Account
Gulshan's father stated that his son worked at a private company in Bengaluru and had returned home about a month ago. He said, "On Sunday around 8 am, he had tea and left home for a walk. He was talking to someone on his mobile. We received information about his death two and a half hours later." Family members noted that Gulshan had left home wearing a shirt and trousers, but his shirt was found removed from his body. His mobile phone was lying beside him. Villagers and relatives suspect foul play.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving information, Maniyari police reached the spot and took custody of the body. A Forensic Science Laboratory team was also called to collect evidence. SDPO West-II Animesh Chandra Gyani said police are investigating the case from all angles. "The case is suspicious, so we are investigating deeply from both murder and suicide angles. Call details are also being examined. Further action will be taken based on the written complaint filed by the family," he stated. The body was handed over to the family after the postmortem at Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital.
