Youth's Arm Severed in Zirakpur Clash, Condition Critical After Kirpan Attack
A shocking incident of violence has left a 19-year-old youth with severe injuries, including the loss of his right arm, following a brutal clash at Highland Park grounds in Zirakpur. The victim, Bhupinder Singh, a resident of Aastha Apartments on Patiala Road, is currently in critical condition at GMCH-32 hospital, battling for his life after the traumatic assault.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on April 18, stemming from an ongoing dispute between rival groups. Bhupinder Singh received a distressing phone call from his brother, Ranvir Singh, who informed him that he had been assaulted by Gurpreet Singh. In a rush to the scene, Bhupinder arrived at Highland Park grounds, where Gurpreet allegedly showed up with six to seven accomplices, escalating tensions rapidly.
What began as a heated argument soon spiraled into a violent confrontation. During the clash, Gurpreet Singh is accused of attacking Bhupinder with a kirpan, a traditional Sikh dagger. As Bhupinder attempted to defend himself, he was repeatedly struck, resulting in his right arm being severed near the elbow. He also suffered multiple deep gashes on his chest and waist, leading to excessive bleeding that caused him to collapse at the spot.
Injuries and Aftermath of the Attack
Ranvir Singh was not spared in the assault either. He sustained head injuries and a wound above his eye after being hit with a sharp-edged weapon. Following the brutal attack, the accused reportedly fled the scene while issuing threats to the victims, leaving behind a trail of blood and chaos.
In a desperate bid for medical help, Bhupinder was initially taken to the civil hospital in Dhakoli by his brother in a private vehicle. After receiving first aid, he was referred to GMCH-32, where he is currently undergoing intensive treatment.
