In a shocking incident in Himachal Pradesh's Nalagarh, a group of youths allegedly assaulted a bus driver and his conductor after the bus overtook their car. The incident, which occurred on the Nalagarh-Swarghat road, has sparked outrage among local residents and the transport community.
Details of the Incident
The bus, operated by a private transport company, was en route to Swarghat when it overtook a car near the Kheri area. The car, occupied by a group of young men, reportedly took offense to the overtaking maneuver. The youths allegedly chased the bus and forced it to stop. Once the bus halted, they allegedly dragged the driver and conductor out of the vehicle and subjected them to physical assault.
Victims' Account
According to the driver, identified as Rajesh Kumar, and conductor, Suresh Kumar, the youths were carrying sticks and other weapons. They allegedly attacked the duo without any provocation, leaving them with multiple injuries. The victims managed to escape and reached the Nalagarh police station to lodge a complaint.
Police Response
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including assault and criminal intimidation. The Nalagarh police have launched a search operation to nab the accused. Preliminary investigations suggest that the car involved in the incident had a Chandigarh registration number, and efforts are on to trace its owner.
