Uttar Pradesh Government Transfers 20 IAS Officers
The Uttar Pradesh government has effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle by transferring 20 IAS officers across various districts and departments. The order was issued by the state's Department of Appointment and Personnel on July 10, 2026, and is effective immediately.
Key Appointments and Changes
Among the notable changes, Alok Kumar, a 2000-batch IAS officer, has been posted as the Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board. He was previously serving as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Basic Education Department. Another senior officer, Jitendra Kumar, a 2004-batch IAS, has been given the charge of Managing Director of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
Several district magistrates have also been moved. For instance, Gaurav Kumar, who was the District Magistrate of Agra, has been transferred to the position of Commissioner of the Food and Logistics Department. Similarly, Ravi Kumar, the DM of Meerut, has been posted as the Director of the Information Department.
