Meanwhile, one lane on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, which was shut due to a landslide, has been reopened for traffic heading towards Pune, according to highway police. The landslides and waterlogging are a result of heavy monsoon rains that have lashed the region. The Khopoli-Kusgaon Missing Link near Tunnel 2 on the expressway was partially covered by debris and boulders, prompting authorities to close the route for safety. Restoration work is ongoing.
