AAP Launches Scathing Attack on Haryana CM and BJP Over Punjab Remarks

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a fierce counterattack against Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), following Saini's recent statements during his visit to Punjab. AAP's National Media In-charge, Anurag Dhanda, accused the Haryana CM of making "deliberate attempts to mislead the public" and divert attention from what he termed as the BJP government's failures and scandals in Haryana.

Allegations of Misleading Statements and Government Failures

Dhanda asserted that Saini's comments in Punjab were "not only beyond facts" but also irresponsible, particularly on sensitive issues such as floods, farmer compensation, and worker assistance. "A government that could not provide rights to suffering farmers and workers in its own state has no moral authority to preach to others," Dhanda stated. He further highlighted that Saini admitted during his Punjab visit that the BJP government in Delhi shut down Mohalla Clinics upon coming to power, claiming this proves the BJP's tendency to "shut down facilities" rather than provide them.

Exposing Scandals in Haryana

The AAP leader detailed several alleged scams under the BJP regime in Haryana:

  • Work-Slip Scam: Dhanda pointed to a massive fraud in Haryana's labour department, involving approximately Rs 1,500 crore. An investigation into about 6 lakh work-slips under the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board revealed over 5.46 lakh were fake, indicating more than 90% irregularities.
  • Recruitment Scams: Between 2014 and 2024, over 20 recruitment scandals came to light, affecting exams like HTET, HSSC, HPSC, and police recruitment. More than 29 FIRs were registered, with several examinations cancelled. In 2025, a case involving a fake recruitment website further exposed an active corrupt network, according to Dhanda.
  • Economic Impact: Dhanda linked these scams to Haryana's deteriorating economic condition, noting that the state's debt surged to approximately Rs 4 lakh crore by 2024-25 from 2014. "If so much debt was taken, where did that money go?" he questioned, adding that there was no improvement in government schools, hospitals, farmer incomes, or youth employment.

Haryana CM's Punjab Visit and BJP's Vision

Meanwhile, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, during a Samman Samaroh in Panjola village, Punjab, expressed confidence in the BJP's future in the state. He declared that "the coming time belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party" and, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Punjab would become a leading state in India. Saini promised that a BJP government would accelerate development and effectively implement central welfare schemes in Punjab.

Saini, who has been actively involved in Punjab politics for over a year, was warmly welcomed by organizer Satpal Poonia with a bouquet and siropa. His visit underscores the BJP's ongoing efforts to expand its influence in Punjab, following in the footsteps of his predecessor Manohar Lal Khattar.

AAP's Rebuttal and Public Perception

Dhanda dismissed Saini's optimistic statements as "proof of arrogance and being disconnected from reality." He argued that the public is wise and can distinguish between real work during crises and mere rhetoric. "CM Saini's funny and hollow statements cannot change the truth," Dhanda concluded, emphasizing that AAP remains vigilant in holding the BJP accountable for its alleged missteps in Haryana and beyond.
