Akhilesh Yadav Launches Scathing Attack on BJP During Odisha Visit

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav delivered a sharp critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party during his visit to Bhubaneswar on Friday. The SP leader contrasted his party's approach with what he described as the BJP's divisive tactics.

Vision Versus Division

Akhilesh Yadav made his position clear from the beginning of his address. "While the Samajwadi Party remains committed to politics of vision," he stated, "the BJP thrives on politics of division." He emphasized that true politics should focus on public welfare rather than what he called "professional politics" centered on profit and loss calculations.

The SP president accused the ruling party of employing hate politics to advance what he termed a "divide and rule" agenda. "With each passing day," Akhilesh claimed, "the BJP gets more exposed. Once they are fully exposed, people will vote them out from Delhi."

Vision India PDA Initiative

Akhilesh Yadav traveled to Odisha specifically to chair the latest edition of his Vision India – Plan, Development & Ascent program. This chain of events brings together experts from various fields to discuss contemporary needs across different sectors.

The Bhubaneswar chapter, scheduled as a day-long summit on Saturday, will concentrate on the theme 'Holistic Health – The Key To Neo India'. The SP leader described his purpose in Odisha as "planting a PDA tree" and expressed hope that his party could establish a stronger presence in the state.

Specific Allegations Against BJP

Akhilesh Yadav didn't limit his criticism to general statements. He pointed to specific incidents to support his claims about BJP's methods.

  • He referenced demolition activities in Varanasi's Dal Mandi area, suggesting these actions benefit corporate allies of the BJP.
  • The SP president mentioned government agencies allegedly being used to collect data from political opponents, an apparent nod to recent controversies involving West Bengal's ruling party.
  • He connected this to recent Enforcement Directorate raids on offices of political consultants working with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Political Predictions and Historical Connections

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister made bold predictions about upcoming elections. "The BJP is going to lose the assembly election in West Bengal," Akhilesh declared. "That's why they're creating all this hue and cry against the ruling Trinamool Congress." He expressed confidence that Mamata Banerjee and her party would achieve a sweeping victory.

Akhilesh also highlighted historical connections between his party and Odisha. He noted this marked his third visit to the state within a year, having previously traveled there during by-elections and to seek blessings at the Jagannath Temple. He fondly recalled how his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, had collaborated with Odisha's legendary leader Biju Patnaik during the socialist movement's earlier days.

The SP president concluded by reiterating his party's commitment to what he called "politics of development" aimed at uniting people rather than dividing them. He positioned this in direct opposition to what he characterized as the BJP's professional, division-based approach to politics.
