Akhilesh Yadav Visits Burn-Injured BJP MLA, Urges Harmony

In a surprising political move, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday visited BJP MLA Anupama Jaiswal at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow to inquire about her health. Jaiswal had suffered facial burns while burning an effigy of Akhilesh during a protest in Bahraich on April 25.

Akhilesh's Message of Harmony

Taking to social media platform X, Akhilesh wrote in Hindi: "We don't want to see the society on fire, we want drizzles of harmony instead. This is one of the lessons that the healthy traditions of our constructive politics has taught us. This was the reason why I visited BJP MLA Anupama Jaiswal and prayed for her speedy recovery. Politics and importance of humane obligations can co-exist. (May) Harmony and amity prevail."

Previous Response to Incident

Hours after the BJP MLA suffered burns, Akhilesh had tweeted a video of the incident, urging the government to ensure proper medical care for party functionaries injured in such accidents. The gesture has been widely discussed in political circles for its unexpected display of humaneness across party lines.
