Amit Shah's Intensive Late-Night Strategy Session for Bengal Polls

Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a critical strategy meeting on Tuesday night with key party functionaries, meticulously refining the election blueprint to maximize voter participation for the first day of polling on Thursday. The high-stakes discussions extended into the early hours, concluding at 3 AM on Wednesday, underscoring the BJP's focused approach to the electoral process.

Comprehensive Focus on Polling Stations

The strategy centered on 44,376 polling stations spread across 152 assembly constituencies. Shah issued clear directives to ensure that each polling station remains fully staffed and operational until voting officially concludes. The BJP has systematically categorized these booths into three distinct segments: strong, focused, and weak. Focused booths are identified as those where the party encountered significant competition in the previous election, indicating areas requiring heightened attention.

The Crucial Role of 'Panna Pramukhs'

A cornerstone of the BJP's electoral strategy is the enhanced role of the 'panna pramukh', an individual responsible for managing between 30 to 60 voters. On polling day, each 'panna pramukh' is tasked with maintaining direct contact with 10 to 15 families to guarantee voter turnout. Sunil Bansal, renowned for his meticulous micromanagement during the Uttar Pradesh elections, will oversee the performance of every 'panna pramukh' on Thursday.

"Booth-level functionaries have been instructed to implement man-to-man marking for voters on Thursday," revealed a senior Bengal BJP leader, highlighting the granular, personalized approach being adopted.

Advanced Booth and 'Shakti Kendra' Management

The next phase involves sophisticated management of booths and 'shakti kendras', which are clusters comprising five to seven booths. Over the past two years, each 'shakti kendra' has been assigned the objective of adding 15 to 20 new voters per booth, a strategy aimed at expanding the party's electoral base. Bhupendra Yadav, a key campaign strategist with experience in states like Rajasthan, Bihar, and Odisha, will supervise polling station management on Thursday.

Functionaries have been explicitly directed to report any incidents of violence immediately and to seek assistance from central security forces without delay, ensuring a smooth and secure voting process.
