Bhubaneswar: An unidentified bike rider was run over by a government-run Ama bus on Sunday, triggering outrage among local residents who blocked the busy NH-16 along the Satsang Vihar-Rasulgarh stretch for nearly 40 minutes. The incident caused severe traffic congestion in the area.

Police Investigation Underway

An officer from the Saheed Nagar police station confirmed that authorities are working to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading to the accident. The bus driver is currently being questioned, the officer added.

Senior Officials Intervene

Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena, rushed to the spot and managed to pacify the protesters, restoring normalcy in the area. The blockade was lifted after assurances of strict action.
