BJP Slams Congress on Foundation Day, Calls It 'Private Asset' of Gandhi Family
BJP Attacks Congress, Labels It 'Weakest Link' in Democracy

In a sharp political attack on the occasion of the Congress party's foundation day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing critique, alleging that the principal opposition party has lost its foundational principles and become a "private asset" of what it termed the "fake" Gandhi family.

BJP's Scathing Accusations on Congress Legacy

Addressing the media on Sunday, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia mounted a fierce offensive. He dismissed the Congress's celebration of its foundation day, stating it was ironic for a party whose "foundation has been shaken." Bhatia presented a litany of historical events to question the party's legacy.

He cited the Partition of India, the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), losing territory to China, the Emergency period of 1975-77, and the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 as part of the Congress's historical record. He specifically recalled that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had justified the violence following the 1984 riots.

Kharge Labeled 'Remote-Controlled', Party 'Dynastic'

The BJP spokesperson also targeted Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who had earlier recounted his party's rich legacy and accused the BJP of divisive politics. Bhatia mocked Kharge as a "remote-controlled" politician, suggesting he acts under the dictates of the Gandhi family.

"Kharge is so helpless as he serves the fake Gandhi family. He cannot speak a word about their dictatorial style," Bhatia alleged. He further claimed it was Kharge's "compulsion to keep quiet" on critical observations made by senior party functionaries like Digvijaya Singh and Shashi Tharoor.

Bhatia asserted that the contemporary Congress party now primarily stands for "corruption, and dynastic and communal politics."

Congress Branded the 'Weakest Link'

In his concluding remarks, the BJP leader positioned the Congress as a detrimental force in the nation's political landscape. He declared that the Congress has become the weakest link in Indian democracy.

Bhatia advised the party to instead focus on connecting with the masses and cease actions that, according to him, damage Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India). The attack underscores the ongoing, intense political rivalry as the country moves closer to the next general election cycle.
