"I was campaigning door-to-door and did visit her house," Bagchi stated. "I requested her to vote for us. I realized she supports the Trinamool and she began listing various schemes. I told her she is free to vote for anyone, but one should not misbehave with visitors."
Bagchi went further to accuse sitting TMC MLA and Barrackpore candidate Raj Chakraborty of orchestrating the complaint. "Raj realized he is going to lose, which is why such baseless issues are being raised," Bagchi asserted, suggesting the complaint represents a desperate political maneuver by his opponents.

Raj Chakraborty, the TMC candidate for Barrackpore, responded sharply to Bagchi's allegations. "BJP must understand that threats and violence are not part of Bengal's culture," Chakraborty declared. "Such tactics will not work. People will give a fitting reply through the ballot on April 29."
