BJP National President Nitin Nabin will embark on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir starting Monday, focusing on organisational strengthening and commemorative events. His itinerary includes key meetings with party leaders, a youth interaction session, and participation in the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
Arrival and First Day Events
Nabin will arrive at Jammu Airport in Satwari on Monday afternoon, where he will receive a grand welcome from senior BJP officials. Following his arrival, he will address the birth anniversary event of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who advocated the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India. The government is observing Mookerjee's 125th birth anniversary through two years of nationwide programmes to honour his political, educational, and cultural contributions.
Later on Monday, Nabin will proceed to the BJP state office in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to chair an important organisational meeting with state BJP officials, morcha presidents, district presidents, and district general secretaries. He will review ongoing party activities and provide strategic guidance. In the evening, he will visit the historic Raghunath Temple in Jammu, followed by a high-level meeting with the core group of the Jammu and Kashmir BJP.
Second Day: Tributes and Strategic Meetings
On Tuesday morning, Nabin will pay floral tributes at Dogra Chowk, Jammu, to the statue of late Prem Nath Dogra, former president of Praja Parishad and Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He will then proceed to the Convention Centre on Canal Road, Jammu, to preside over several important strategic meetings.
Subsequently, Nabin will hold a significant meeting with state BJP MPs, MLAs, and general secretaries. He will also meet former MLAs, former Legislative Council members, former District Development Council (DDC) members, and former Block Development Council (BDC) chairpersons. The visit will culminate with Nabin addressing a youth convention, titled 'Yuva Samvaad', aimed at engaging with the region's youth and bolstering the party's grassroots outreach.
Focus on Organisational Strengthening
The visit underscores the BJP's commitment to strengthening its organisational structure in Jammu and Kashmir. By holding meetings with various tiers of party leadership, Nabin aims to review regional strategies and ensure effective implementation of party programmes. The inclusion of a youth-focused session highlights the party's emphasis on connecting with younger demographics, a key constituency for future electoral gains.
According to party sources, the visit is part of a broader effort to consolidate the BJP's presence in the Union Territory ahead of upcoming elections. The interactions with former representatives and current office-bearers are intended to address local concerns and align party activities with national objectives.
