Buxar: BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi on Sunday asserted that the traditional 'MY equation' (Muslim-Yadav vote base) would no longer influence election outcomes in Bihar. Speaking in Buxar while reviewing preparations for the upcoming MLC election, he stated that voters in Bihar have moved beyond caste-based politics and are now making decisions based on development and governance.
Shift in Voter Priorities
Saraogi emphasized that the electorate in Bihar is increasingly focused on tangible progress rather than caste affiliations. He noted that the opposition parties have lost public trust, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government continues to strengthen its support through various development initiatives. This shift, he argued, marks a significant departure from the past when the MY equation was considered a decisive factor in Bihar's electoral landscape.
Preparations for MLC Election
The BJP leader made these remarks during a visit to Buxar, where he reviewed the party's preparations for the upcoming MLC election. The JD(U) candidate in the fray is Kanhaiya Prasad, son of Radhacharan Seth. Hundreds of party workers gathered to welcome Saraogi at a meeting near Purana Bhojpur, reflecting strong organizational support for the candidate.
Saraogi's comments come amid a broader political realignment in Bihar, where development-focused agendas are gaining traction. He reiterated that the NDA's track record of governance would be the key factor in winning over voters, rather than traditional vote-bank calculations.
