BJP marks 12 years of Modi govt in Varanasi with cleanliness drive

Varanasi: To celebrate the completion of 12 years of the Modi government at the Centre, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized various programs in Varanasi on Wednesday, including a cleanliness drive, tree plantation, intellectual public outreach, and the ‘Pragati Path Yatra’. BJP state president and Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary participated in the programs.

Cleanliness Drive and Tree Plantation

A cleanliness drive was conducted at the Mandvi Talab located in Maduadih, where the Minister of State swept the area and planted a sapling under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. An extensive cleanliness drive was carried out on the pond premises, spreading the message of environmental protection. Chaudhary said environmental protection is our responsibility towards the coming generations and added that led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cleanliness and environmental protection have taken the form of a mass movement, and every citizen should take part in it.

Public Outreach Campaign

Under the special outreach campaign, Chaudhary met dignitaries, doctors, and distinguished members of society at Mahmoorganj in the Cantt Assembly constituency. He honored Padma Shri Chandrashekhar Singh and presented him with a booklet on the achievements of 12 years of the Modi government. He visited the residences of Dr. S K Yadav, Kumar Agarwal, Dr. P K Jindal, Dr. Indu Singh, Dr. Shivkumar Singh, Dr. Vibha Mishra, Dr. N P Singh, Dr. Ashish Dutta, and Dr. Avinash Singh, interacting with them and discussing the resolve of a developed India along with the schemes and achievements of the Central government.

For the successful conduct of the public outreach campaign, Rahul Singh was made the program coordinator. The program was attended by the party’s regional president Dilip Patel, city president Pradeep Agrahari, district president Ramsakal Patel, mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari, state minister Hansraj Vishwakarma, MLA Neelkanth Tiwari, MLA Saurabh Srivastava, Legislative Council Member Dharmendra Rai, and district panchayat president Poonam Maurya.

Pragati Path Yatra

During the Pragati Path Yatra program held at Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium in Sigra, Chaudhary said that through the 'Khelo India' campaign, work has been done to nurture the sports talents hidden in remote villages and to provide them a national and international platform. He said that Prime Minister Modi, giving a big gift to the youth of his parliamentary constituency Kashi, has got the Sampurnanand Sports Stadium modernized. Now, facilities for more than 21 indoor sports including badminton, table tennis, boxing, and wrestling are available in a single complex here. Along with this, training and financial assistance are also being provided to young players, due to which the players of Kashi and Purvanchal are getting a new identity. Before the program, Chaudhary met the sports officer and inspected the stadium, appreciating the indoor-outdoor sports facilities, sports library, cafe, and other modern arrangements.
