Bommai Accuses Congress of Frustration Politics Amid Global Crisis

Haveri MP and former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has launched a sharp critique against the Congress party, alleging it is engaging in politics driven by frustration. This accusation comes as the Union government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, navigates the complex global crisis stemming from conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

LPG Supply Situation Clarified

Speaking to reporters in Gadag on Saturday, Bommai addressed concerns about LPG cylinder availability. He stated unequivocally that there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in the country. "In fact, the state's food and civil supplies minister KH Muniyappa himself confirmed this," Bommai emphasized.

He acknowledged a minor shortage of commercial cylinders but urged against panic. "Five to six ships carrying LPG are already en route to India," he revealed, adding that the state government should focus on proper distribution and preventing black-market sales. Bommai projected that the issue would likely be resolved within 8 to 10 days.

Contrasting Leadership During Conflicts

Bommai drew a stark comparison between the current administration's handling of the crisis and that during the Iraq war under Congress rule. "During the Iraq war with Saddam Hussein in power, the Congress governed India. Then Union minister AK Antony ordered petrol bunks closed after 8pm, leading to kilometer-long queues," he recounted.

In contrast, he highlighted that 15 days into the present US-Israel-Iran conflict, no such severe disruptions have occurred, attributing this stability to Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Bommai noted that domestic gas production has increased by approximately 25%, and the government has ensured adequate petrol and diesel availability despite global tensions.

Defending Government's Crisis Management

The MP defended the Modi government's effective management of the global crisis, stating that except for the temporary commercial LPG cylinder issue, no major inconveniences have arisen. "India depends on Gulf countries for LPG supply, yet the government has mitigated impacts through strategic measures," he explained.

Bommai alleged that despite being aware of these facts, the Congress continues to level allegations, which he characterized as politically motivated. "This reflects their frustration over the government's competent handling of a challenging international situation," he concluded, reinforcing his critique of the opposition's stance.
