Boy Drowns in Ganga in Buxar

Buxar: A tragic incident occurred on Monday when a 12-year-old boy drowned while bathing in the Ganga river at Ladhopur Nara village, located under the Muffasil police station area in Buxar. The deceased was identified as Himanshu Kumar Rai (12), son of Dinesh Rai, a resident of Jokahi village in Pavni panchayat. He was the youngest among three brothers.

Incident Details

According to police reports, Himanshu had gone to the riverbank with his friends to bathe. While playing in the water, he ventured into the deep water and began drowning. His friends immediately raised an alarm. Hearing their cries, local residents rushed to the spot and launched a rescue effort. After considerable effort, they managed to pull the boy out of the river and rushed him to Buxar sadar hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police Response

Upon receiving information, a team from Muffasil police station reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem, said Shambhu Bhagat, SHO of Muffasil police station. The incident has left the family and the community in shock.
