Chhattisgarh CM and Cabinet Attend IIM Raipur Governance Camp

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his entire state Cabinet have enrolled in a two-day residential training programme at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, starting July 4, 2026. The initiative aims to sharpen governance skills and improve public service delivery, with sessions on leadership, artificial intelligence, and the rural economy.

Focus on Effective Governance and Public Expectations

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated that the camp is designed to meet public expectations and accelerate development. "The real test of a government begins after winning an election—meeting public expectations, accelerating development and demonstrating effective leadership amid evolving challenges," the CMO said. The programme serves as a platform for dialogue and deliberation, with Cabinet members staying on campus.

On the first day, ministers attended sessions led by motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das, who addressed leadership, life values, inner balance, and sensitivity in public life. The session stressed that a minister's role extends beyond departmental duties to inspiring trust and making balanced decisions during crises.

Technology and Rural Economy in Focus

Scientist Abhay Karandikar introduced the Cabinet to AI, data-driven decision-making, and digital governance. The message emphasized that effective governance will increasingly rely on technology for faster decision-making, monitoring, and transparent service delivery—especially critical for remote and tribal regions in Chhattisgarh.

NITI Aayog member Dr. Ramesh Chand led a session on agriculture and the rural economy, highlighting the need to enhance rural incomes, strengthen value chains, and adopt a village-centric development approach. Villages, agriculture, and forest produce form the backbone of Chhattisgarh’s economy, making this focus essential for sustainable growth.

Alignment with Developed India Vision

CM Vishnu Deo Sai described the camp as a necessity in changing times. "A government must keep learning, continuously evaluate itself and prepare for future challenges," he said. The sessions signal that Chhattisgarh aims to shape governance as a trained, accountable, and result-oriented system aligned with the national goal of a Developed India.

The camp also has implications for Bastar, where the security situation has improved, shifting focus to development, investment, agriculture, tourism, and efficient service delivery. Equipping the Cabinet with modern administrative thinking and technology is directly linked to Bastar’s future.
