CM Yogi to Inaugurate VIBHA National Convention in Varanasi

Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will arrive in Kashi on Friday evening to inaugurate the two-day 7th national convention of Vigyan Bharti (VIBHA) at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on Saturday. He will also address a public meeting at Kotwa in Azamgarh on Saturday afternoon.

During his two-day visit to the city, Yogi will review the progress of ongoing projects handled by the Public Works Department (PWD), including the Dalmandi road widening. He is likely to participate in an event with vendors at the Chowkaghat cultural complex before offering prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav temples.

Convention Details

On Saturday morning, he will reach BHU to inaugurate the national convention of VIBHA, India's largest science movement, at Swatantrata Bhawan, announced VIBHA's national organising secretary Dr. Shivkumar Sharma, national general secretary Vivekananda Pai, and national secretary Dr. Tripta Thakur on Thursday.

Around 1,200 delegates, including VIBHA members, scientists, researchers, academicians, policy-makers, industry leaders, and subject experts from India and abroad will participate in the convention. The event aims to facilitate meaningful discussions on emerging scientific and societal challenges and to outline a roadmap for a scientifically empowered and self-reliant India.

Themes and Speakers

This year's deliberations will focus on nationally relevant themes, including One Health, Net Zero for Viksit Bharat, and Artificial Intelligence & Ethics. Apart from VIBHA national president and President of the Indian National Science Academy Dr. Shekhar Mande, many eminent speakers and thought leaders will address the convention sessions.

The convention will also feature a public lecture by renowned economist and former Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Dr. Rajiv Kumar, and a special address by RSS Sah-Sarkaryawah Dr. Krishna Gopal. VIBHA will pass a resolution on the "STI Policy" for Bharat, with suggestions to be sent to the ministry for further discussion. Union Minister Sanjay Seth will address the valedictory session on Sunday.

Security and Preparations

Major route diversions will be effective in Varanasi on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The Azamgarh district administration and police have finalised preparations for the CM's visit. Yogi is likely to address a public meeting at the Agriculture College ground in Kotwa, Rani ki Sarai area, and will review development work and law and order in the division during a meeting with officials.
