Cockroach Janta Party Holds First Press Conference, Demands Pradhan's Resignation
Cockroach Party Demands Pradhan's Resignation at First Press Meet

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), positioning itself as a volunteer-driven movement, held its first press conference on Wednesday in New Delhi. The party called for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, citing alleged examination irregularities and demanding accountability.

Nationwide Mobilization Drive

The CJP aims to turn public anger over examination controversies into a nationwide movement. The organization claims over 8 lakh people have signed a petition demanding Pradhan's resignation. The party stresses that public participation, not financial backing, is its strength.

Spokesperson Panel Announced

At the press conference, the CJP unveiled a three-member spokesperson panel: journalist Saurav Das as chief spokesperson, alongside political researcher and filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya and IIT alumnus Ashutosh Ranka. The party is gearing up for a protest on June 6 in the national capital.

The group describes itself as a youth-led challenge to a broken education system. A spokesperson stated, “We don’t need funding for Rs 200 posters,” emphasizing that low-cost campaigns can succeed with widespread public support.

Expanding Support Base

The movement has evolved beyond students to include a wider platform demanding transparency and institutional accountability. The CJP is described as a youth political movement seeking reforms that directly impact students and youngsters.

Plans for the June 6 demonstration include founder Abhijeet Dipke arriving in Delhi at 8 am, with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk expected to join. Participants will seek permission for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar from the Parliament Street Police Station.

The central demand remains unchanged: Pradhan's resignation. The party argues that repeated allegations of paper leaks and other exam controversies require accountability at the highest political level. The CJP appeals to citizens and political workers across party lines to join the campaign, portraying it as an open platform built on public participation.
