Congress MP Pramod Tiwari Slams BJP for 'Swallowing' Allies After BMC Polls
Congress MP Accuses BJP of 'Swallowing' Allies in BMC Polls

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party following the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation election results. He accused the BJP of sidelining its allies and "swallowing" its political partners. Tiwari made these remarks after the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP and Shiv Sena, won control of 25 out of 29 municipal bodies in Maharashtra.

Allegations of Deceit and Betrayal

Tiwari claimed the BJP's political approach relies on deception and betrayal. He told ANI that the party's tactics, character, and history all center on these elements. "Those who side with them end up getting swallowed whole," Tiwari stated. "That's exactly what happened in Mumbai. Now they want to swallow Shiv Sena too."

Calling Victory and Alliance 'Fake'

The Congress leader described the election victory and the alliance as "fake." He asserted that the BJP's political dominance would not endure. "This palace of sin that the BJP has built will crumble," Tiwari declared. "When it falls, everyone will stand apart from them. I declare this election victory fake. After a fake election, a fake alliance has formed."

Post-Election Developments

Tiwari's comments came amid reports that Maharashtra's deputy chief minister moved newly elected corporators to a hotel. The official was preparing to stake a claim for the mayor's post. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the Mahayuti alliance would form mayors in 25 civic bodies.
