The party has re-nominated Neeraj Dangi from Rajasthan and nominated Pranav Jha, currently attached to the Congress president, from Jharkhand.

Venugopal stated, "Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the candidature of the following people as Congress candidates to contest the biennial/bye-elections to the Council of States from the states mentioned." The Rajya Sabha elections are scheduled for June 18, with the last date for filing nominations being June 8.
