The Congress party on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Nayab Singh Saini-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana, accusing it of rampant corruption, scams, and irregularities in recruitment examinations. Party representatives claimed a significant increase in such incidents under the Saini administration, severely impacting the future of the youth and eroding public trust in governance.
Press Conference Highlights
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, former Speaker of the Haryana Assembly and Congress MLA Ashok Arora, along with Deputy Leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Aftab Ahmed and Chief Whip Bharat Bhushan Batra, accused the BJP government of failing to ensure transparency in recruitment and examination processes. Also present were Haryana Congress OBC Department Chairman and MLA Chandra Prakash, MLA Naresh Selwal, and the party's media in-charge Sanjeev Bhardwaj.
Allegations Against the Government
The Congress representatives said that Haryana's youth are facing growing uncertainty due to rising unemployment and alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted through the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). They claimed that deserving candidates are being forced to struggle as the government has failed to safeguard merit and fairness. The leaders asserted that the BJP administration has turned a blind eye to the plight of job seekers, leading to widespread disillusionment.
NEET Paper Leak Condemned
Congress leaders also condemned the recent NEET paper leak, calling it a serious blow to the confidence of lakhs of students and parents across the country. They stated that repeated incidents of paper leaks in major examinations have raised concerns over the credibility of the education system and caused immense mental stress among students. The party demanded strict action against those responsible and measures to prevent future breaches.
Rs 600 Crore IDFC Bank Scam
Targeting the government over the alleged Rs 600 crore IDFC Bank scam, Congress leaders described it as a major economic betrayal of Haryana's people. They alleged that decisions taken during the BJP government's tenure caused significant financial losses to the state and demanded a fair and high-level investigation into the matter. The leaders emphasized that the scam has further eroded public confidence in the state's financial management.
Future Course of Action
The Congress party said it would continue raising issues related to corruption, financial irregularities, and public interest both inside and outside the assembly. The leaders vowed to hold the government accountable and ensure that the voices of the youth and common citizens are heard. They called for immediate reforms in recruitment processes and a thorough probe into all alleged scams.
