Gowda's Statement on Rajya Sabha Candidacy
When asked about the possibility of being fielded for the Rajya Sabha elections, Gowda said, 'I have conveyed my interest to the party high command. It is now for the leadership to take a decision.' He added that he would abide by whatever decision the party makes.
Speculation Over BJP State President Post

His name has been doing the rounds as a probable candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, with elections expected later this year.
Political observers note that Gowda's claim comes at a time when the BJP is looking to strengthen its presence in the Upper House. The party currently has a strong numbers in the Karnataka legislative assembly, which elects members to the Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, party sources indicated that the central leadership is likely to take a call on Rajya Sabha nominations in the coming weeks. Gowda's experience and seniority are seen as assets for the party in Parliament.
