In response to the tragic explosion near the historic Red Fort that claimed nine lives, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced substantial financial compensation for the victims and their families. The announcement came on Tuesday, November 12, 2025, following the Chief Minister's visit to Lok Nayak Hospital where she met with the injured and their relatives.

Compensation Package Details

The Delhi government has approved a comprehensive compensation package for those affected by the devastating blast. Families of each deceased victim will receive Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia payment from the state government.

For survivors suffering from various degrees of injuries, the compensation structure includes:

  • Rs 5 lakh for victims who have suffered temporary disability due to the blast
  • Rs 2 lakh for those with grievous injuries
  • Rs 20,000 for victims with minor injuries

Government's Immediate Response

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed deep shock over the incident, stating that the explosion has profoundly affected not only the victims' families but the entire capital city. "This is an unfortunate incident that has shaken our city," Gupta stated during her hospital visit on Monday night.

The CM has directed concerned departments to expedite the relief distribution process, ensuring that no eligible person faces unnecessary delays in receiving financial assistance. She emphasized that the government will ensure no victim suffers due to lack of medical care or support during this difficult period.
