MY Bharat Chandigarh, operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, commemorated the birth anniversary of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee on July 6, 2026, by organizing a series of activities aimed at inspiring youth through his vision, ideals, and invaluable contributions to nation building.
Essay Writing Competition Engages Youth
The programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of Vinay Kumar, district youth officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh. As part of the event, an essay writing competition was held, in which 45 participants took part. The participants presented essays highlighting Dr Mookerjee’s life, vision of nationalism, education, national integration, and his ideas for India’s development.
Address by Foundation Founder
The programme was also addressed by Sanjeev Rana, founder of the Kartvyanisht Foundation, who spoke about the life, philosophy, and invaluable contributions of Dr Mookerjee towards nation-building. According to Rana, Dr Mookerjee's ideals remain relevant for today's youth in shaping a strong and united India.
Sapling Plantation Drive for Environment
A sapling plantation drive was also organized as part of the event to promote the message of environmental conservation. The initiative aimed to encourage young participants to contribute to a greener planet while honoring Dr Mookerjee's legacy.
The combined activities underscored the importance of both intellectual engagement and practical action in nation-building, aligning with Dr Mookerjee's vision of a self-reliant and environmentally conscious India.
