A 28-year-old delivery executive working for a food delivery company lost his life after a garbage truck collided with his motorcycle near Koyambedu in the early hours of Friday. The deceased has been identified as P Tharunkumar, a native of Karur district.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the accident occurred around midnight on Friday when Tharunkumar was riding his motorcycle along Koyambedu Market ‘A’ Road. A garbage truck, driven by R Raji (26) of Mayiladuthurai, rammed into his vehicle from behind. The impact threw Tharunkumar off the motorcycle, and he was subsequently run over by the truck.
Legal Action Taken
The police have registered a case and arrested the truck driver, Raji, in connection with the incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident. Authorities have also urged citizens to exercise caution on the roads, especially during late-night hours.
