Jaisalmer: Four people lost their lives and four others sustained injuries after a Bolero vehicle carrying eight passengers overturned near Bhadiyawas village in Rajasthan’s Barmer district on Thursday evening, police confirmed. The occupants were returning to the Chouhtan area of Barmer after offering prayers (Ziyarat) at Ajmer on the occasion of Eid.
Accident Details
“Information was received Thursday evening about the Bolero overturning near Bhadiyawas village, following which a team was dispatched to the spot,” said Pachpadra police station ASI Amraram.
Police reported that seven injured individuals were taken to Nahata District Hospital in Balotra, where doctors declared three dead. Two critically injured persons were referred to Jodhpur, while two others were admitted to a private hospital in Balotra. One of those referred to Jodhpur later succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Rahmat, 52, wife of Noor Mohammad; Arshad, 8, son of Noor Mohammad; and Kadar Khan, 35, son of Inayat, all residents of Konra Vilayatshah (Chouhtan, Barmer). Habib Khan, 45, also died during treatment.
Police said Kaje Khan and Habib Khan were referred to Jodhpur in critical condition. Razak Khan and Sawai Khan are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Balotra.
Investigation Underway
A large crowd gathered at the accident site following the incident. Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the overturn. Families of the deceased have been informed, and postmortem proceedings will be carried out after their arrival.
