Furthermore, each injured individual will receive Rs. 50,000 to aid with medical and other expenses.

May the injured recover at the earliest." The Prime Minister also confirmed that he had spoken with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and that the state government was actively providing all possible assistance to those affected.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The fire broke out late on Saturday night at Birch by Romeo Lane, a popular nightclub located approximately 25 kilometers from Panaji. The blaze, which officials said was caused by a cylinder blast inside the establishment, quickly engulfed the venue.

The tragic incident claimed at least 25 lives and left around 50 people injured. Reports indicate that several of the victims were staff members working at the nightclub, which had opened just last year.

Fire and emergency services personnel worked tirelessly through the night to control the flames. The injured were promptly rushed to multiple nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

Goa Government Orders Probe, Promises Strict Action

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited the fire-ravaged site and described the event as "unfortunate." He announced that the state government has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.

"The inquiry will examine the exact cause of the fire, and those found responsible will face the most stringent action under the law," CM Sawant asserted. He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring accountability and preventing such tragedies in the future.

Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar informed PTI that the primary cause was a cylinder explosion within the nightclub premises. The investigation will now delve into the safety protocols and compliance measures at the venue.
