Haryana Yuva Samvad 2024 Kicks Off in Chandigarh with Youth Dialogue
The second edition of the two-day Haryana Yuva Samvad opened at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh on Friday. This youth-focused dialogue brought together 65 participants from 13 states across India. The event is organised in collaboration with the Rajdhani Yuva Sansad.
Inauguration by Vidhan Sabha Speaker
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He delivered an inspiring address to the young attendees.
Kalyan reflected on India's historical challenges. He noted that India endured a long and difficult period of slavery. During this time, attempts were made to damage its rich culture and values. Despite these struggles, India stands today as the world's largest democracy. The country is continuously moving on the path of development.
This progress serves as proof of the strength of the Constitution. It also highlights the unity of the people of the country. The Constitution teaches us that the real strength of India lies in its people. All citizens must work together to realise the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The goal is to make India a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Unity in Diversity and Common Goals
Kalyan emphasised that India is a country of great diversity. It has different languages, traditions, and cultures. However, the nation aims for a common goal. This goal is the progress of the nation and the State.
He pointed out that languages may differ in various legislative assemblies across the country. Yet, the objective of all public representatives remains the same. They aim to frame effective and welfare-oriented policies for every section of society.
Inspiration for Youth Participants
The Speaker told the youth that they were sitting in the very Vidhan Sabha building where history was made. Several eminent MLAs and leaders have contributed to law-making and the overall development of Haryana from this venue.
He expressed hope that the young participants would, in the future, get opportunities to become public representatives. They should uphold democratic traditions. They must take part actively and meaningfully in discussions in the House.
Kalyan added that diversity of opinions is natural in a democracy. Young people should approach issues with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. This approach will help society and the nation move in a constructive direction.
International Recognition of India's Progress
Sharing his experience from the Commonwealth Parliament held in Delhi, Kalyan said many Speakers from different countries were surprised. They were amazed that India is progressing so strongly despite having hundreds of languages, customs, and cultural diversities.
Other Speakers at the Event
During the programme, several other dignitaries addressed the youth. MLA Pooja Chaudhary shared her insights. Ram Narayan Yadav, advisor to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, also spoke. Jai Saini and Isha Kapoor, co-founders of Haryana Yuva Samvad, addressed the gathering as well.
They shared their views on various important topics. These included the freedom movement, experiences of the Constituent Assembly, democratic values, leadership capacity, and the role of youth in nation-building.
The event aims to foster meaningful dialogue among young Indians. It encourages them to engage with democratic processes and contribute to the country's development.
