Manideep Reddy, a 24-year-old pursuing a master's degree at the University of Helsinki, was reported missing in late April 2026. Finnish police launched an extensive search operation, which concluded with the recovery of his body from the Baltic Sea near the Helsinki coastline. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed, and an investigation is ongoing.
According to the Indian Embassy's email, the family has been offered consular assistance to facilitate the repatriation of the remains. The embassy is coordinating with local authorities and the family to complete necessary formalities.

The Reddy family, based in Hyderabad, expressed profound grief over the loss. Manideep's father, Venkata Reddy, stated, "We are devastated by this news.
