Tributes Paid to Former Haryana IAS Officer M L Verma on 34th Death Anniversary
On Sunday, heartfelt tributes were paid to former Haryana IAS officer M L Verma, marking the 34th anniversary of his tragic death in a terrorist attack. Verma, along with his wife, two sons, driver, and gunman, was killed on February 1, 1992, while traveling to his native village. The main commemorative function was held at Lalhari Kalan in Yamunanagar, organized by his family and the local community.

In addition to the primary gathering in Yamunanagar, similar functions were conducted in several other districts to honor Verma's legacy. These included:

His younger brother, Sanjeev Verma, who serves as the Ambala Divisional Commissioner and is also an IAS officer, highlighted the significance of these annual tributes in keeping his brother's memory alive.

At the time of his death, M L Verma was serving as the additional principal secretary to then Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
