The US Department of Justice alleges that before naturalizing, Ghosh conspired to defraud investors for an aircraft maintenance facility, and after naturalizing, he continued the scheme. In his 2012 naturalization application, he claimed he had never committed a crime. The complaint states he violated good moral character requirements and made willful misrepresentations. The Justice Department has filed denaturalization actions against 12 individuals for serious offenses, including terrorism support and war crimes.
