The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal as 'Samman Diwas' by organising a state-level event in Mewat on September 25. The decision was taken during the party's national and state executive meeting held in Hisar on Sunday, according to INLD national general secretary Abhay Singh Chautala.
Decision Made in Hisar Meeting
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Chautala said the people of the Mewat region had always shared a special bond with his father, Devi Lal, and that the decision was taken with the unanimous consent of the party's office-bearers. The event aims to honour the legacy of the former deputy prime minister, who is remembered for his contributions to farmers and rural development.
Significance of Samman Diwas
The Samman Diwas celebration is expected to draw party workers and supporters from across the state, particularly from the Mewat region. INLD leaders believe that the event will strengthen the party's connect with the local population. No further details about the programme schedule or guest list have been released yet.
