The Pink City is set to resonate with patriotic fervour as Jaipur prepares to host a series of spectacular public events leading up to the annual Army Day celebrations. The week-long schedule promises an immersive experience for residents, featuring an interactive exhibition, a dramatic stadium show, and the grand main parade, all open to the public free of charge.
Week-Long Celebrations: Exhibitions and Stadium Spectacle
The festivities will kick off on January 8 and continue until January 12 with a special exhibition titled 'Know Your Army'. This event will be held at Bhawani Niketan College on Sikar Road. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to get up close with various artillery pieces and equipment used by the Indian Army, offering a rare glimpse into the tools of national defence.
Following this, an additional highlight named 'Shaurya Sandhya' will take place at the SMS Stadium. This powerful show will specifically highlight the Indian Air Force's precision strikes during Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine locations in Pakistan. The portrayal will involve professional actors recreating five of the targets, while footage will be shown for the remaining four, bringing a significant military operation to life on stage.
How to Attend the Events: Passes and Registration
While all events are free, the entry process varies. Officials have confirmed that there will be no restrictions or passes required for the 'Know Your Army' exhibition at Bhawani Niketan College; it is open to all.
However, for the 'Shaurya Sandhya' event at SMS Stadium, residents will need to collect passes from the district collectorate to secure their entry.
The procedure for the main event, the Army Day parade on January 15, is more structured. The parade will be held on Mahal Road in Jagatpura. The district collectorate plans to launch a Google Form for registration to confirm spaces for the parade. Alternatively, spots can also be secured on a first-come, first-served basis for those who do not register online.
The Grand Finale: Army Day Parade in Jagatpura
The build-up of events will culminate in the Army Day parade on January 15. Officials have stated that the venue on Mahal Road is equipped to accommodate a massive audience. Up to 12,000 viewers will be able to witness the parade live, with arrangements for seating for 40,000 people, ensuring a comfortable experience for the attendees.
This series of events not only honours the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces but also serves as a bridge between the military and citizens, fostering a spirit of national pride and awareness in the heart of Rajasthan.
