Jharkhand Governor Emphasizes Unity and Progress During Republic Day Address

In a stirring Republic Day address at Ranchi's iconic Morhabadi ground, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar called upon citizens to embrace unity and a forward-thinking mindset to overcome developmental challenges. The 77th Republic Day celebrations witnessed the governor unfurling the national flag before a large gathering, setting a tone of collective responsibility for the state's advancement.

Parade and Tableaux Showcase State's Diversity

The ceremonial proceedings featured Governor Gangwar inspecting impressive parades by student contingents and police forces, demonstrating discipline and patriotic fervor. A visual highlight of the event was the presentation of twelve vibrant tableaux representing various state departments, each creatively depicting Jharkhand's administrative achievements and cultural richness, captivating the audience throughout the Monday celebration.

Governor Highlights Comprehensive Development Initiatives

In his detailed speech, Governor Gangwar outlined numerous state government programs benefiting diverse population segments. "Today, Jharkhand is progressing on a path of continuous development in every sector, including education, health, energy and industry," he affirmed, noting the mineral-rich state's significant contribution to national socio-economic growth and the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

Key initiatives highlighted included:

  • The recent cabinet approval of PESA rules 2025, described as a milestone for protecting tribal identity and rights

Chief Minister's International Engagement and Constitutional Tribute

While Governor Gangwar presided over Ranchi celebrations, Chief Minister Hemant Soren marked Republic Day from abroad following his participation in the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, and subsequent engagements in the United Kingdom. Soren paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at London's Parliament Square and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at his residence, honoring foundational figures of Indian democracy.

Upon returning to Ranchi on Tuesday, Chief Minister Soren extended Republic Day greetings with a powerful reflection on constitutional values. "The Constitution is not merely a book, but the voice of existence, rights, and dignity of the citizens," he stated, emphasizing its role as the strongest foundation for equality, justice, and opportunity for marginalized communities.

Soren expressed confidence that through justice, equality, equity, and brotherhood, the 25-year-old state of Jharkhand would achieve unprecedented progress, reinforcing the shared commitment to constitutional principles that Governor Gangwar had earlier emphasized in his address.
