NTA DG Abhishek Singh Says NEET Re-exam Went Well, Results Soon
NTA DG: NEET Re-exam Smooth, Results Expected Shortly

National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh stated that the NEET UG re-examination conducted on June 21, 2026, proceeded without major issues. In a series of statements to the press, Singh highlighted the collaborative effort involving multiple government departments and agencies to ensure the exam was held within a compressed timeline of 37 days.

Smooth Conduct with Multi-Agency Support

When asked about the exam's integrity, Singh said, "So far, from what we have heard, everything went well. We have received good reports. A lot of state governments and government departments extended full support." He acknowledged the logistical challenges, noting that the re-exam required coordination among the Government of India, state governments, paramilitary forces, Railways, and even the Indian Air Force.

Record-Time Re-examination

Singh explained the urgency behind the re-exam: "When we had to cancel the exam, we had to conduct the re-exam in record time. We announced it within 37 days to ensure students don't suffer." He emphasized that such extraordinary measures, including deploying the Indian Air Force, were necessary due to the limited timeframe and the vast geographical spread of the country. However, he clarified, "There will not be a need to deploy the Indian Air Force every time. This time, due to special circumstances and limited time, the examination had to be conducted within 37 days in such a large country."

Results to Be Declared Quickly

On the timeline for results, Singh assured that the NTA aims to release them promptly. "The examination result will be declared as soon as possible. We will try to release the results quickly so that there is no delay in the medical college counselling," he said. This move is intended to minimize disruption for students awaiting admission to medical colleges.
