A deeply emotional condolence assembly was organized in Kanpur on Wednesday to pay tribute to the 26 individuals who lost their lives in the devastating Pahalgam terrorist attack. Among those remembered was Shubham Dwivedi, whose family and community gathered to honor his memory and the sacrifice of all victims.

The program commenced on Wednesday evening at Lajpat Bhavan in Motijheel, where heartfelt tributes were paid to Shubham and the 25 other victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The ceremony featured a traditional Pushpanjali Sabha followed by a Swaranjali event, both rituals serving as profound expressions of respect and mourning.

During the emotionally charged event, special recognition was given to the wives of martyred soldiers, acknowledging their immense personal loss and strength. Additionally, soldiers who sustained injuries while serving in the army and suffered limb loss were felicitated by Speaker Mahana and Deputy CM Pathak, highlighting their bravery and sacrifice.

"We lost our Shubham in this attack," Mahana stated emotionally. "Our family has maintained a generational relationship with this family, making the loss particularly profound."
Mahana revealed that upon receiving information about the attack, he and Deputy Chief Minister Pathak immediately contacted Shubham's father. Their primary concern at that critical moment was ensuring the dignified return of Shubham's mortal remains to Kanpur, demonstrating their personal involvement in supporting the grieving family.
The Speaker further shared that when he learned about Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, his first visit was to Aishanya. He described that moment as feeling like "an opportunity had come to dedicate something to the martyrs," emphasizing the ongoing commitment to honoring those who sacrifice for the nation.
