Police Intervention Saves NEET Aspirant's Exam
In a swift operation, a police team in Kochi ensured that NEET aspirant Sana Jose did not lose her chance to appear for the medical entrance examination after she arrived at the test centre without the mandatory passport-size photograph. The incident occurred at the Government Higher Secondary School in Elamakkara, where gate security noticed the missing document just minutes before the exam was set to begin.
How the Police Acted
According to a statement from Kochi City Police, Sana Jose from Vypeen was accompanied by a relative who had already left for home when the issue was discovered. Distressed and facing the possibility of being denied entry, the student alerted Civil Police Officers Chinchu and Aswathy. They immediately informed their superiors, and Sub-Inspector Lalu Joseph took charge of the situation.
With most photo studios closed on Sunday and time running out, SI Joseph contacted Binu, the owner of Zion Studio near Deshabhimani Junction. Binu understood the gravity of the matter, travelled from his home, opened the studio, and arranged fresh passport-size photographs for the student. A police officer then collected the photos and rushed them to the examination centre.
Timely Delivery Ensures Entry
The photographs reached Sana before the examination began, allowing her to complete verification formalities and enter the examination hall without further hurdles. The timely intervention drew appreciation from senior officers, who highlighted the efforts of the personnel involved in a statement released on Monday.
This incident stands in contrast to reports from other parts of the country where students were turned away from NEET examination centres over missing documents or delays. The Kochi police team's proactive response ensured that one candidate did not miss her opportunity.
