AICC incharge pledges to resolve misunderstanding
Rajni Patil, AICC incharge for Himachal, acknowledged the tension ahead of the party's General House meeting. "I will speak to the Minister if he attends the meeting today. There has been some misunderstanding, but we will sort it out," she said. Her remarks signal the party leadership's intent to address internal unease promptly.
Focus on 2027 Assembly elections and party expansion
State Congress president Vinay Kumar outlined the meeting's agenda, which includes preparations and strategy for the 2027 Assembly elections. "We will discuss our preparations and strategy for the elections. We will also deliberate on the expansion of the party's executive committees at the state, district and block levels," he said. The party aims to strengthen its grassroots presence through committee expansions.
Protests against BJP and Venugopal's visit
Patil added that the party would discuss launching protests against the BJP over the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft. She also announced that AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal would visit Dharamsala on July 16 and 17 to attend a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee, indicating high-level attention to Himachal affairs.
Organisational meeting structure
The two-day meeting began with a General House session and will be followed by a separate evening session where Patil will hold detailed discussions with senior party leaders on organisational issues and forthcoming political programmes. The overall focus remains on strengthening the party organisation, improving coordination among frontal organisations, and formulating a strategy to tackle upcoming political challenges.
