Koppal district has completed mapping for 11,34,937 voters out of a total of 11,92,307 voters in the 2025 electoral roll, while the exercise remains pending for 57,370 voters, deputy commissioner and district election officer Dr Suresh B Itnal announced on Thursday.
Revision Exercise Details
Addressing the media at the DC office, Dr Itnal stated that the voter list revision exercise is being carried out as per the schedule notified by the Election Commission on May 14, 2026. He highlighted that a similar special intensive revision (SIR) exercise was previously conducted in 2002.
As part of the current exercise, voters listed in the 2025 electoral roll are being mapped with their details in the 2010 electoral roll. Officials and staff engaged in the enumeration process are using both electoral rolls for mapping.
Door-to-Door Visits
Booth-level officers (BLOs) will undertake door-to-door visits for one month beginning June 30. Enumeration forms will be distributed to all mapped voters, and BLOs will assist them in filling out the forms.
Opportunities for Updates
The revision process will also provide an opportunity for inclusion of new names, deletion of entries, and correction of voter details. The exercise aims to identify deceased, shifted, and duplicate voters and update the electoral roll accordingly.
Representatives appointed by political parties as BLAs will also participate in the revision process, Dr Itnal added.
ADC Sidrameshwar and ZP Deputy Secretary B. Krishnamurthy were present during the announcement.
