A deputation from Muktinath Mahadev Mandir and Gokuldham Gaushala, Pandora Mohalla, met Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh on Tuesday to demand the clearing of a garbage dump on land adjoining the temple. The delegation, comprising Vivek Markanda, Raj Kumar Sondhi, Vijay Abbi, Parmod Bharti, Manoj Laddi, Mukesh Bittu, Varinder Chopra, and Master Davinder, informed the DC that the Mandir committee is constructing temples of Baba Balak Nath, Khatu Shyam, and Maa Jawala on the premises of Muktinath Mahadev Mandir. The state-of-the-art construction work is progressing at a war footing.
Governor invited for inauguration
The Mandir committee has invited the Governor of Punjab to grace the inauguration ceremony of the newly built temples, scheduled for October or November this year. The grand function will be held on the adjoining land of the Improvement Trust, where a huge garbage dump is currently lying. The committee earnestly requested the DC to instruct concerned officials to clear the dump well before the proposed Governor visit.
DC assures prompt action
The DC gave an encouraging response and assured action to resolve the issue, according to Vivek Markanda, president of Gokuldham Gaushala. The clearing of the garbage dump is essential to prepare the venue for the inauguration ceremony, which is expected to draw a large gathering.
