Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin welcomed MDMK's decision, expressing gratitude to MDMK general secretary Vaiko and describing the move as "magnanimous." The DMK had allotted four constituencies to MDMK: Modakurichi, Madurai South, Kadayanallur, and Sirkazhi. Initially, MDMK had intended to contest the Sirkazhi seat independently using its own symbol.
In an official statement, MDMK confirmed that its candidate for the Sirkazhi constituency, R. Senthilselvan, will now also campaign under the DMK's Rising Sun symbol. This adjustment signifies a notable shift from MDMK's previous hardline negotiations with the DMK to secure opportunities to contest on its own emblem.
