Milind Deouskar Gets Additional Charge as Metro Railway GM

Milind K Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railway, has assumed the additional charge of General Manager of Metro Railway with effect from June 1, 2026, following a directive from the Ministry of Railways. This marks the second time he has been entrusted with this responsibility, having previously held the additional charge for a brief period of three weeks in September 2025.

Extensive Experience in Indian Railways

A 1987-batch officer of the Indian Railway Management Service, originally from the Indian Railway Stores Service, Deouskar brings a wealth of experience from various leadership roles across Indian Railways. Over his career, he has served as Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Divisional Railway Manager of Pune Division, Secretary in the Railway Board, Principal Chief Materials Manager at Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, and Chief Materials Manager in both Central Railway and Konkan Railway Corporation.

Educational Background and Professional Development

Deouskar is a mechanical engineer and an alumnus of Maulana Azad College of Technology (now NIT Bhopal). He has completed advanced management programmes at INSEAD in Singapore and Malaysia and attended a workshop on strategic management issues at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Contributions and Recognition

He is known for encouraging sports and cultural activities within the Railways. In recognition of his outstanding contributions and achievements, he was honoured with the National Railway Award in 2003 by the Railway Minister.
